                                  Machinery Show Safety Policy

                                  Please follow these guidelines so all can enjoy a safe show
                                   

                                  SAFETY POLICY
                                  PREPARATIONS BEFORE YOU COME:

                                  (1) Include a fire extinguisher  if you have motorized equipment.

                                  (2 ) Store flammables in labeled & capped containers
                                  (no glass 
                                  containers or open “coffee can” fuel tanks, please!)

                                  (3)  Factory shields & guards should be installed over machinery.

                                  (4) Safety glasses should be brought for use around debris producing equipment such as saws, grind stones, wood splitters, etc.

                                  (5)  Engine exhausts should be muffled and/or aimed so that bystanders
                                  won’t be in the “line of fire”. 
                                   

                                  AFTER YOU ARRIVE:

                                  (1) Equipment should NEVER be left running and unattended

                                  Someone familiar with the machine should always be in the immediate vicinity.

                                  (2) Please shut down engines during refueling
                                  store flammables a good
                                  distance away from the equipment.

                                  (3) Tractors, vehicles should not be operated faster than a walk; Please use caution, as pedestrians may not be aware of your presence.

                                  (4) Please start your engines without a crank if at all possible.

                                  (5) Position engines with flywheels parallel to barrier ropes with hot and moving parts out of spectator reach.   

                                  (6) Engines and attachments should be thoroughly staked to the ground to maintain belt tension and alignment!
