Anyone that has volunteered in the museum
for the fair knows how much the public enjoys our building and that is because we have guidelines for the exhibits.
The
museums time frame is 1870-1929. Some exhibits are specific years. Items in these types of exhibits should be close to the
years stated. Of course many of our exhibits span our 1870-1929 time frame.
Costumes of the time period add so much to
the museum. Many of ourmembers enjoy dressing the part,but they(costumes) need not be too complicated. If costumesare not
your thing, please dress conservatively if you volunteer in the building.
Chairpersons of exhibits should see that everything
is in its place the Sunday before the Fair opens. No items should be brought in after that day.
Exhibits should be clean
and neat for the entire fair.Items such as coolers,bags,cell phones and other items not of that time period should be kept
out of sight of the public.Exhibits take time and effort. The overall effect can be ruined by items that do not belong.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU HAVE A NEW ID TAG!!
There will be someone in the office on Wednesdays from 8AM to 4
PM to take your picture. LAST YEARS ID TAG WILL NOT BE VALID!!
Please remember that some of our people work very hard
and put in long hours, so that patience can wear thin. So look around and appreciatewhat goes into each and every exhibit.
If you have suggestions or criticism wait until the fair is over and let the directors know.
